A-Zhen in Shanghai

 

In the summer of 2003 A-Zhen visited Shanghai, which is where I took these shots when she spontaneously posed. Almost all were taken in the Pudong, near the Jin Mao Tower. You can't tell from the pictures, but the weather was unbearably hot.

A-Zhen is not a classic beauty but she has rather striking looks that improve with the viewing. She also has her own individual ideas of fashion and a sense of style in carrying them off. In Shanghai I saw another girl, a slender-shouldered Shanghainese, wearing the same top that A-Zhen is wearing in these photos. There was no comparison. A-Zhen didn't like the little white cap that I bought her but she wore it anyway, just to be nice.
